Portraits

Capturing a portrait of a person or group requires more than just simply photographing a person and calling it a portrait. In part its about finding out about the person and letting who they are shine through the photos. In part its about expressing one’s artistic talent. At My Pensacola Wedding Photography, I combine them to bring my vision of what I’ve learned about the person or couple I’m photographing to life in a portrait that highlights who they are. It’s important when learning about a subject to choose the location appropriately. For instance with children’s photography, I feel the mood of the area shouldn’t be some grown up ideal of what they want their kids to be.

For Pensacola engagement photography its important to find out as much about the couple as possible. I treat this like a mini wedding shoot in that the couple’s desires are equally important here. For instance, a couple wanting to express their fun side around October had a shoot at the Interstate fair. I went along with Heather from Captured Art Photography on this one. It was a treat for all of us. I have a few ideas up my sleeves when needed. For instance, I’m still looking to take engagement photos of a couple going about a day of shopping and cooking.
